Just a quick intro....I have helped raise 5 nieces and nephews, been a foster parent, and involved with youth all of my 51 years. I have an undergraduate degree in Psychology and now I am working toward a Master's degree in Negotiation and Conflict Resolution from Creighton. I recently became a Local Coordinator for a non-profit organization called The Center for Cultural Interchange. We match International Exchange students with Host Families and get them enrolled in high school. I have reached out to Millard schools, visited with my contact person in the administration office and we had a great talk. I was told Millard is ready to accept a few new International Exchange students... however, (and this is a big however), I am challenged by a policy that is currently in place. I was told that Millard does not allow any "reaching out"/marketing attempts on school grounds and I respect this. I was just wondering how I would go about finding host families for my students with this policy in place. Is there another way I could start building a partnership with Millard Schools? I would love to introduce myself to a key person in the school district or the administration office. We have such a lovely program and I am sure students would like to hear about it. Any ideas??? Feel free to check us out at the attached link. I am really open to all ideas.
