My daughter is part of the HAL program. I believe she has gone to one seminar this year as an 8th grader. She is in the highest level of math, which I feel is really the only area that seems to be a strength with HAL. She has had wonderful teachers in her other subjects (Language Arts, Science and History) that recognize that she needs to be challenged more and have given her opportunities for that. But it doesn't always work out. I remember one of her previous teachers making the comment that he wished those opportunities could be broadened, but he was limited by what he could do.
