We have many safety and security measures in place in our schools. What improvements (if any) would you like to see?

I am wondering if there needs to be some additional education at the elementary level on language and safety. I have two kids at the elementary level. Both have had peers make some pretty detailed and inappropriate comments involving weapons they say their parents have at home. In both situations the kids threatened my kids. I am quite sure that both incidents were innocent, but it seems like a red flag to me that even joking about guns or threats of this nature is this common. If this is seen as acceptable at the grade school level it becomes more of a problem when kids are older and threats even more concerning. Somehow we need to get across to our young children that it is never okay to threaten or talk about brining a parent's gun to school.
