I think it would be good to provide weekly or monthly reminders to students about safety issues and things they can do to help make their environment safe. They get into their daily routines and often forget about safety since it is not their highest priority. I think this is especially important at the grade school level. The reminders can be as simple as a safety newsletter, or something the teacher brings up during class for a five minute discussion, or even a homework assignment on safety. Or even the Principal can announce a safety reminder during the morning announcements.
