I think it would be good for the teachers to be more involved by having a secure site that the parents can go to and see how their kids are doing. The wiki idea is great. Just someplace where the parents can go and interact with the teachers more than they do now. Issues can be discussed in private email from the site or even private discussions. The general idea being to eliminate the need for paper coming home on issues and a central place to discuss with the teacher not just their children but ideas for the class.
