Band is an area that should NOT be reduced. I have a sophomore in the MN marching band and next yr will have my middle child join him. At MN 1/10 of the student body is involved in the marching band. The most of any school program or activity. The band is the 3rd most successful program as far as state rankings behind the dance team and football. Dane team and Football are very well supported by the school. Although band does receive funding and support from the school, it is certainly not in proportion to the amount of student body participation. In fact, I would say the band is under funded.

There are so many benefits of being in band.
