We live in the information age. Access to vast amounts of information is just a tap or click away. Video lessons on almost any subject are free to watch at YouTube & other places. I have seen nothing but expansion of schools in spite of this vast decentralization of knowledge. I can only surmise that this is about maintaining control for the government and the needs of the financial elite. I suggest we start to dismantle these expensive schools. They are not about creativity, critical thinking or much of anything resembling real learning. They are all about obedience and creating good little workers and soldiers. They are also a convenient place to have complete strangers raise our kids while mom now marches off to work right along with dad. Childhood should be a time of wonder and curiosity, not rote memorization and making learning something kids fear. And check out a list of autodidacts (self taught people) if you think we couldn't get along without compulsory schooling.
