One of our teachers (last year, and hopefully again this year) coordinated a school-wide blanket drive, having the kids bring in fleece material, and then during their 'swamp' time, they made tie blankets. It was a HUGE success and a great way to get families and kids involved, and a wonderful lesson to the kids to think of others who may not have anything but the blanket they are making for them. They also collected food items and toilet paper. Way to go Mrs. Traynor for getting it all together.
