Too many snow days

I know this is NE, but the last few snow days were not bad enough for the schools to be closed. One of them, the snow was over by morning and the plows had already been through by 7 AM, and the last one, the snow was slushy and easy to drive through, neither should have called off school. I also understand that the decision is based on students having to wait for the buses (snow/wind/cold) or buses not being able to get through the neighborhood, but, for example, my school, we don't have bused students and the neighborhood was just find to drive through, yet the kids were not in school and will have to make it up at the end of the school year. I suggest letting those who can drop their kids off at school do so (majority of students), those who can't get out or those students who are bused adapt a 'snow bus' plan and be counted tardy/absent (minority). This way, most can get to school safe and not 'waste' a snow day. Only those who can't make it will have homework to make up.
