I know you sent out emails, MPS (at least, according to the parents who told us about it), but this is truly a terrible idea. My family saw no less than 30 packs of unsupervised middle school children wandering about all parts of Millard, including one giant throng that was walking down the middle of the south-bound 156th Street lane. Unless you absolutely need the school 100% clear to not scare the incoming 6th-graders-to-be, I highly recommend scheduling a track and field day or something else to clear the halls and classrooms. Or you could assign 6th Grade Buddies to take the 5th graders around the school. Anything would be wonderful just to avoid having young people milling about, attempting to end their own lives with risky behavior. Again, we know you sent out emails asking parents to be available to watch them, but not all parents are willing or able to do this, obviously. Signed, People Who Almost Hit Kids While Cresting a Hill and Were Waved At With Big Smiles.
