What does your school do to secure the entrances? Is there a district standard? Is there a single entry point? Are doors locked after the school day starts? If, so is there a bell to ring with a video camera to let only authorized people come in? I became concerned for our middle school's safety when we visited it (to decide where my daughter wanted to go). We were about ten minutes early, so my husband, my daughter and I just "hung out" in the hall as students passed classes. No one noticed us there or said anything. Scary. I would like to have doors locked (and door bells/video cameras installed if necessary), as well as a single point of entry. If you visit most businesses, you have to pass by a receptionist and let them know who you are and who you are visiting. You can't just wander into a business. Why is our school less safe than a business?
