I've often posted on here about what is wrong with the Millard schools my kids attend. It's Teacher appreciation week and I would like to post some comments about positive and great things about these Millard schools. Abbott - Dr. Chaussee is a wonderful Principal. He stands out in the freezing cold directing traffic every morning along with two wonderful parent volunteers. Traffic moves smoothly and there are several adults around the kids as they arrive. He gets to know the kids and visits their classrooms all the time. When I've had concerns and did not get response from various teachers, he is always willing to step in and help resolve issues in a positive way. Abbott is also where Mrs. Cryer works - EXCELLENT teacher!! Kiewit has wonderful teachers as well. Ms. Bruntz and Mrs. Bacon, Mrs. Hinz, Mrs. Howe, Mrs. Leaman and Mr. Pinkney and Mr. Smith are just a few of the great teachers my child has or has had. The teachers all send a weekly email with a heads up of what homework is due and upcoming tests. They are always willing to listen and work with the students. While there are many things that need to be changed at Millard schools, there are also many things that are awesome!
