When I received the notice from the District on Friday,my heart sank.The first thing I noticed when we moved here,was the absence of security at our school.The ALERT message sent out clearly states that main entrances are NOT LOCKED- but we have cell phones, two way radios, networking...?I find this terrifying.Once someone enters our school that poses a threat,no cell phone,radio or video is going to prevent them from pulling out a weapon.At that point,they're already in.Schools are not secure if the front door is wide open!This recent tragedy has made it clear...it CAN happen ANYWHERE.Please...lock our doors!
