Bond issue w regards to safety

I understand that the bond issue coming out in the spring, although not finalized, has had the classroom enclosures taken out. I am hoping that this has been rethought and back on the ballot with the recent events. There has been a lot of talk about safety on this forum this week and at our individual schools - this should be a top priority for the bond issue. If not, then untie our PTO/PTA/VIP hands and let us raise the money for it to happen on our own. I know there is only so much these groups can do to make sure all schools are equal, but safety should be first. I know there will be some that say doors on the classrooms and a buzzer system will not deter an evil person. While this is mostly true, let's at least give our kids a fighting chance and a couple extra layers of defense to get through. The more people we have backing this, the better chance we have of getting it on the Bond and getting the Bond out. We will all have to do our part when the Bond comes out to educate all in Millard what's at stake and why the bond is needed. Too many people thought the last bond was mostly about sports/football - I can't tell you how many people said that to me after Friday when I told them our open schools would have been enclosed with the bond and secure entrances. We all need to come together and do our part.
