Safety, Security, Empowerment - 40 Developmental Assets

Read through the 40 developmental assets, take action. We have a duty to keep our families and communities safe. One way to empower our kids and ourselves is to make our voices heard where it can count. This is one forum, there are more. Choose to write to your state and federal representatives telling them how you feel. For instance, you may feel it is unacceptable for citizens, other than law enforcement, to own assault weapons. This would help to keep communities and schools safer. Write it out. Perhaps you want to see ALICE training in place at all schools in the state. Write it out. I remember writing, as a school child, to my state and federal representatives to voice my opinion about emissions, saving the whales, and etc. It's a great civic privilege we have in America. We can all (parents, teachers, students, administrators) write letters calling for change on topics we feel are important.

All names and addresses can be found by googling.
