Where did the topics from August and September go? I was telling a friend about this site and some of the topics that were discussed back in August/September (HAL in the middle school, Curriuculm discussion, bussing, assignment notebooks/homework help, school area boundaries etc...). I came back to the site to re-read some topics and see if there was any new discussion or action taking place and they are all gone. There should be a history of old topic threads - at least for viewing even if the topic is closed for discussion. It would also be helpful if when the topic was closed to discussion, someone from Millard would post a note stating if any action is being considered regarding the topic. This forum would work better if Millard District personnel participated more in the discussions. You say you are listening, but it would be helpful to know if any actions are being taken regarding our ideas. You take a poll on curriculum preference, we see the results (briefly), but what are you planning to do with that information? Parents commented on the HAL program - are you planning to modify it in any way? I realize you can't make every change that is suggested, but it would be nice to hear the District's views on the topics discussed and what they plan to do with the ideas collected - which ones they think they can act on and which ones are impractical and why. The 'how it works' page says the most practical, resourceful, & creative ideas will be made into reality. Please tell us what you are considering implementing or if an internal committe has been formed for further discussion. Use this as a tool to educate parents and explain why the District does things the way they do, what they can change and what they can't and why. We are communicating our thoughts to you, please comunicate back. It will help us better understand what areas we can and cannot make improvements in. Thank you for this opportunity to be heard.
